The Limburg University Fund/SWOL originated from the Foundation for Higher Education in Limburg (Stichting Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs Limburg, abbreviated to SWOL). This foundation stood at the basis of Maastricht University (UM), which developed from the Rijksuniversiteit Limburg. The Limburg University Fund/SWOL has helped UM to develop into a top-performing, internationally oriented university. The Limburg University Fund/SWOL concentrates on raising funds for challenging projects that can enhance the university’s social significance and contribute to an enterprising knowledge economy – regionally, nationally and internationally. For this reason, the fund invests in strengthening contacts between Maastricht University and its alumni, the business sector and other institutions.

The University Fund asked ZIN Maastricht which is specialized in creative concepts to design a new corporate identity based on the concept of “commitment”. One of the most important communication vehicles is the new University Fund website. ZIN Maastricht and midd.ag worked closely together to build this website in record time, where ZIN Maastricht was responsible for the design of the new website and midd.ag focused on the usability/technical part of the project. The result is a freshly conceptualized website with the possibility to donate online. With the website’s heart, Cortex, the client manages the content of this website quite easily.
